Do you have days when your tired of battling the wind? I do! On those days I fish funnels. Areas that narrow down and the wind creates current and at the same time affords an opportunity to get somewhat out of the wind. There are many on Lake Champlain. The cut through into Carrie Bay, The GUT, any of the bridges, and the Rt 2 draw bridge. With the wind blowing 20 plus MPH a strong current is created in these areas. And both largemouth and smallmouth take advantage of the natural feeder system afforded by the current. Position your on the lee side of the wind and cast into the narrow section and into the current. Fish with the current Drop shots or Carolina rig are by far the best techniques. Next time you’re battling the wind try it.
