Monday, March 26, 2012. The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife has applied for a permit from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to replace the existing ramp at the Chimney Point Access Area in Addison, Vermont. The current ramp will be replaced with a 28-foot-wide and 78-foot-long concrete ramp. Also proposed is a 90 foot seasonal dock adjacent to the south side of the ramp. The Department will be dredging the area adjacent to the ramp. Prior to the replacement of the Champlain Bridge, the Chimney Point Access Area was one of the most popular Vermont launch ramps for tournament and recreational bass anglers. The new ramp and deeper water access will be welcomed by fishermen.
