The past days on Lake Champlain have been as tough as I have seen them in years. With the change in water temps going from mid 60’s a couple of weeks ago to high 40’s presently, the bass are in shock. They have backed off to deeper water and in a holding pattern. Short of dynamite, there is not much an angler can do under these conditions. Hope is just around the corner, warmer weather will naturally arrive and since the Perch are finishing their spawn there will be plenty of fry in the water. With the next full moon just around the corner (25th), all the conditions for a bass feeding bonanza are lining up. Keep the faith and keep fishing. Here are a couple pics from my last guide trip, just to let you know they are still there.
